Welcome to the ninth issue of Prudentia Journal! This time, a new member of our club has written an article about a topic he chose himself. In front of this title we really find two questions: what direction is the world developing? And what direction the world should be developing into? I’ll respond to both of them separately, and after I’ll try do so by integrating both in only one main question or same problem. By wondering about “what direction is the world developing”, in my opinion we have two implicit questions, that’s to say, first: does the world has a direction? And second: if the world has any direction, then to wish direction is it developing into? Let’s take a look to the first part of it. For being able to have “any direction”, whatever this intends to mean, in my opinion this requires to have a necessary condition, but not an enough condition. This necessary condition is indeed the capacity of “awareness”, in other words of being capable to understand that me, as a subject and self-being, is affected by circumstances that surround him. When Charlemagne was crowned Roman Emperor in 800, a period of political stability lasting about a thousand years followed. Stable in this context does not necessarily mean peaceful; there have been many wars. But the social order was clear, there was a spiritual hierarchy with the Pope at the top and a secular hierarchy with emperors, kings, princes and serfs at the bottom. This was also not doubted. With the American Revolution in the second half of the 18th century, a republic arose on the North American continent in which all light-skinned citizens were free and equal. Leisure Time, Intellectual Independence, Free Speech Every human being is different. Under the right circumstances every human being would develop into a different direction. In reality, most people do not develop exactly into the direction that would match their innate abilities and talents because of societal and environmental pressure. In my case, my parents believed that they were doing me good by forcing me to study medicine, because as a doctor you are highly regarded in society and earn good money. They did not understand that these things are relatively unimportant to me, while leisure time, intellectual independence and free speech mean much more to me. For this reason, I am interested in living in a political system that gives me leisure time which I can use for my own purposes, instead of having to work all day and night except for the few breaks which are necessary to consume food, sleep etc., as well as the power to think for myself instead of being forced to adherence to ...

Welcome to the sixth issue of Prudentia Journal! Although not even a month has passed since the previous issue, so many things are happening in the world right now that I have decided to release a new issue already now; I also know already now what the topical focus of the next issue will be, so expect it to follow soon, probably within less than a month's time, as well. While I would still like to point your attention to the "Volko Test of Original Thinking", which was published in the previous issue, this issue deals with the political situation in Europe.
